I WANT TO LEAVE:”Yaxel Lendeborg Commits to Kentucky with Game-Changing 5-Year Contract, Promises to Lead Wildcats to Glory”…
Chicago might be a Survivor Sanctuary for the Wildcats, if Indianapolis is a house of horrors for Kentucky. Positive things happen in the Survivor Sanctuary, and a meeting between Mark Pope and the much-discussed Yaxel Lendeborg might also be positive.
Jacob Polacheck of KSR claims that Lendeborg met with Pope right away after logging into the transfer portal on Monday. Meeting with a player who might be a huge commit for the Wildcats seems to be taking very quickly at Kentucky.
In 37 games for UAB last season, Lendeborg averaged 17.7 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.8 blocks, and 1.7 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. He had an overall field goal percentage of 52.2%, a 3-point percentage of 35.7 percent, and a free-throw percentage of 75.7%.
According to Joe Tipton of On3, Kentucky is one of the leading candidates for Lendeborg. Additionally, Tipton added, “I would not be surprised to see Yaxel pick a college by this weekend,” which the Wildcats should benefit from giv
Even if Yendeborg commits to a school soon, it might not be decided until May where he will play next season because he will be going through the NBA Draft process.
Having said that, you would assume that a school like Kentucky would be happy to have him play collegiate basketball the next season if they are prepared to accept a pledge from him now.
