Urgent:Mike Woodson Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition Mike Woodson's situation in Bloomington is not good. On Tuesday evening, Woodson and Indiana suffered a crushing defeat against No. 19 Illinois, 94-69. It was their second-worst loss in program history and their second consecutive 25-point defeat. The only worst was a 2010 defeat to Wisconsin by 32 points. On Tuesday night, the Hoosiers simply looked fantastic on the floor. Before the Illini took a 28-point lead into the locker room at halftime, they had already fallen behind 30 points in the first half and had only made four of their first 16 attempts. In the previous 25 seasons, it was the biggest halftime deficit Indiana has ever experienced. A brief incident under the basket late in the game was obviously the result of frustrations building. Following a foul, Goode, a former player for Illinois, got into a fight with Tomislav Ivisic. Ivisic was expelled when Indiana's Oumar Ballo ran into him and shoved him. ...
Urgent:Calbert Cheaney Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana Hoosiers coach Mike Woodson hired Big Ten career scoring leader Calbert Cheaney as his new director of player development. Cheaney had spent the previous three seasons on the staff of the NBA’s Indiana Pacers. Cheaney, who served as director of operations in 2011–12 and assisted in managing the internal and external development of Indiana’s players in 2012–13 while on Tom Crean’s staff, is in his second coaching cycle at his alma mater. In his new position, Cheaney will not be involved in recruiting. In a statement announcing the hire, Woodson remarked, "Calbert Cheaney is the best person I could think of to be a member of this program." "His experiences are the best available. When he gets to college, our players can ask him, "How do you become successful?" How can I contribute to my team's championship success? What must I achieve to win National Player of the Year or All-American status? How did you get selected in the first round of the NBA Draft Prior to his time with the Pacers, Cheaney was an assistant coach with two teams in the NBA’s G League and spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Saint Louis University. ...
TRADE DECLINED:Basketball Star Malik Reneau Turns Down $172.3Million Deal Offer Due to..... BLOOMINGTON — Malik Reneau, a junior forward for Indiana basketball, was ill and missed Wednesday's visit from Penn State. Reneau's status was unclear in the lead-up to tipoff, and he was viewed as dubious prior to the game. His absence on Indiana's bench, probably as a precaution, reinforced what his lack of participation in pregame warmups had hinted at. After the game, Mike Woodson informed reporters that Reneau had been ill late in the afternoon and needed to be brought to a nearby emergency room. Woodson said Reneau participated in pregame shootaround before feeling sick. During his press conference, IU's coach stated that he had not yet received an update on Reneau's condition. Woodson claimed that "he was great in shootaround, and then he came down with something." Only a few days have passed since Reneau had what may have been his best performance of the season, making all seven of his field goal tries en route to 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists. ...

Finally:Chloe Moore-McNeil set to Return for her Fifth Season Yesterday, point guard Chloe Moore-McNeil announced her decision to return for her final year of eligibility, which was great news for Indiana Women's Basketball. On her Twitter account, she shared the following: Moore-McNeil leads the squad in assists (4.9), steals (1.3), and scoring (10.1), ranking fourth on the team this season. This season, the Hoosiers have benefited greatly from her calm hand at the point. Head coach Teri Moren will have a seasoned backcourt to weather the rigors of Big Ten play when she returns and guard Sydney Parrish returns the following season. Moore-McNeil responded to head coach Teri Moren's request to be more aggressive prior to the Illinois game. She is been more inclined to drive to the basket and shoot. But her contribution to the squad is not always reflected in the box score. She sparked Indiana's retaliation against Iowa, for instance. In that game, Moore-McNeil finished with six points, five assists, and a steal. But the Hoosiers won because of her outstanding defense against Caitlin ...
