Three-star prospect Ezekiel Marcellin is the only other LB committed to Miami in the 2025 class. Miami loses starting middle LB Francis Mauigoa after the 2024 season. According to On3, Miami now has a less than one percent chance of keeping Merritt in their class, while Tennessee has the best chance of signing him at 36.7 percent, followed by Arkansas at 25.8 percent and Alabama at 11.3 percent. Merritt is the 515th ranked prospect, 44th CB, and 22nd prospect in Alabama out of Birmingham Parker.
