Nikola Jokic steps up in the big moments. By Joey Mistretta Sep 11, 2024 at 10:29 AM ET Chicken Breasts Nikola Jokic shooting a basketball in the Nuggets arena with Nuggets fans in background. Arguably, Nikola Jokic is the NBA’s best player. The NBA had a period before Jokic when a lot of its finest players were guards or wings. But Jokic and Joel Embiid have contributed to the big man’s return to prominence in the NBA. Jokic has been outstanding all through his career, but according to StatMuse, the Denver Nuggets star has excelled particularly in the postseason.

The Nuggets big man averaged 28.7 points per game on 54.5 percent field goal shooting during the 2024 postseason. He also added 13.4 rebounds, 8.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per outing across 12 games. As StatMuse revealed, Jokic has recorded just under 28 points per contest during his playoff career. It is worth noting that the veteran center has appeared in 80 postseason games. Jokic finds ways to dominate during the regular season and playoffs; however, in the postseason, he takes his game to a new level.
Jamal Murray, Jokic’s Nuggets colleague, is recognized as a player who performs significantly better in the postseason. He goes from a fringe All-Star to an MVP-caliber superstar once the regular season comes to an end. However, Nikola Jokic also tends to play his best basketball in the big moments. Having Jokic and Murray on the same squad will delight Nuggets fans. Going forward, Denver ought to have the chance to contend for additional championships with both players setting the standard. 2024–2025 Nuggets schedule as Nikola Jokic gets ready for another huge campaign
Jokic, a three-time winner of the NBA MVP Award, has been recognized in three of the previous four campaigns. Jokic had yet another outstanding season and was named the 2023–24 MVP. Again, the MVP is a regular season award, so it isn’t as if Jokic is slacking before the playoffs. He just finds another gear once the postseason gets begun. There is still no lack of skill on the Nuggets roster. As long as injuries don’t play too much of a role, Denver is on track for another strong season. They failed to win the championship in 2023–24, so maybe Jokic will be even more driven for the upcoming season.
