According to Jane Seymour, the suits do not want any Westerns. In an interview with The Messenger website, the actress revealed that she has submitted a proposal for a revival of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
“We’ve actually got one written, and we’ve got the whole series planned out,” Seymour said. “We just took it to one of the networks, and they said that they weren’t interested in Westerns.”
That’s even though Yellowstone and several other Taylor Sheridan stories have become giants.
Another follow-up idea, likely from the same executive, equally perplexed Seymour.
“It was suggested to me last night, surprisingly, to perform Dr. Quinn as a modern piece,” Seymour remarked. “I am asking, ‘Why?'” Dr. Quinn’s main argument is that, in some respects, not much has changed between the 1870s and the present.
