Urgent:Jon Scheyer Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition

Jon Scheyer, the head coach of Duke, stated on the ACC Teleconference Monday that he feels much better and will return to the field on Tuesday against Pitt. Due to a medical issue, Scheyer was unable to attend Duke’s victory over SMU on Saturday.

Jon Scheyer remarked, “It is nice to see all of you, my first time back.” “It was an absolutely strange experience. I felt awful. shortly because I had so much faith in our players and staff, I felt quite confident in the choice we made late at night, shortly before the game. I thought we had the strategy in place and were ready.

“And watching them perform, witnessing their unity, witnessing their pride while playing, witnessing the work that Chris Carrawell, Jai [Lucas], and Emanuel [Dildy] did… I was rather pleased. I felt much better following the game.

Duke was in control of SMU even without Jon Scheyer. The Blue Devils improved to 12-2 (4-0) on the season with an 89-62 victory on the road. Scheyer expressed pride in the manner Duke performed without him and said the experience taught him something that will benefit him going forward as a coach.

“I don’t plan on missing a game ever again. That’s not in the plans for me. … It was an amazing experience, though, when you separate yourself or take a step back, you’re able to just see things differently, because you’re not in a decision-making mode now,” Jon Scheyer said.
