Thinking back to a pivotal event, “Which is love and work equals art,” Jodie begged her “guys” to “keep that in mind.”…
Jodie started, “Issa López, la reina, who made up this wild Liz Danvers for me, is the reason this is such an emotional time for me. True Detective: Night Country was just a magnificent experience, and it all comes from the top, gorgeous, lovely, talented — I love you so much.”
In addition to expressing gratitude to the “amazing, incredible Icelandic crew” and actors, Jodie also paid a heartfelt tribute to her two kids, Charles and Christopher “Kit” Foster, whom she has with her ex-partner, Cydney Bernard.
Jodie begged her “guys” to “remember it,” reminiscing about a pivotal period in which “love and work equaled art.” She then mentioned her ten-year wife, Alexandra Hedison. Jodie ended her address by referring to Alexandra as the love of her life, and she was greeted with thunderous ovation as she left the platform.
Jodie rarely discusses her sons in public, so her acknowledgement of them is a pleasant surprise. Charles and Kit have occasionally gone to award presentations with their mother, such as the 2013 Golden Globes, and they were present to encourage her when she was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2016.
Despite Jodie’s well-known secrecy about her personal life, it is known that she gave birth to her son Charles in July 1998 while she was still dating Cydney, a 12-hour labor. In September 2001, she gave birth to Kit with the help of the film producer.
