As part of Churchill Downs’ Champions Day, the Louisville Sports Commission made the news this morning.
Greg Fante, president and CEO of the Louisville Sports Commission, stated, “The KSHOF Class of 2024 honors four exceptional individuals who represent a wide range of sports and professions — individuals who had a significant impact on sports in the Commonwealth and on the national scene.”
“The inductees for this year have put forth a lot of effort to change their respective fields. And we are ecstatic to celebrate them and their achievements in Freedom Hall, the official enshrinement gallery of the KSHOF.
Delk was undoubtedly a standout member of the 1996 national championship squad. Delk was awarded Final Four MVP and was chosen to the First Team All-American team. He is still among the top five scorers in program
Drafted No. 16 overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 1996 NBA Draft, he played in the league for 10 seasons and still maintains the school record for three-pointers made (283) and steals (201).
