Andrew and Aaron Harrison are officially returning to action together as they reunite with La Familia, the University of Kentucky alumni squad competing in the 2025 edition of The Basketball Tournament (TBT). The news has thrilled Kentucky basketball fans, offering a nostalgic moment as the twins lace up again to represent the Big Blue Nation in one of the summer’s most exciting basketball showcases.
Flashback to a Legendary Run
The Harrison twins were cornerstones of Kentucky’s historic 2013–2015 teams, helping lead the Wildcats to consecutive Final Fours. Known for clutch moments—most memorably Aaron’s game-winning threes in the 2014 NCAA Tournament—their chemistry, toughness, and composure under pressure made them fan favorites.
Though both pursued professional careers after leaving Kentucky, they have rarely appeared together in competition since. Their participation in TBT offers a unique opportunity for the brothers to share the floor again while proudly repping their alma mater.
Big Boost for La Familia
La Familia, formed last year to compete in TBT as Kentucky’s official alumni team, is looking to build on its growing momentum. The return of the Harrison twins immediately boosts the roster’s pedigree and skill level, adding experienced guards with size, playmaking, and proven winning DNA.
With TBT featuring a single-elimination format and a winner-take-all \$1 million prize, experience and chemistry are crucial—qualities the Harrisons bring in abundance.
Lexington Regional on the Line
In addition to roster upgrades, La Familia is also working toward securing the right to host a regional bracket in Lexington at Memorial Coliseum. Under TBT’s Home Court Advantage system, the team must sell 4,000 pre-sale tickets by May 6 to clinch hosting rights. The Harrison twins’ involvement is expected to drive a significant wave of fan support and ticket purchases.
> “We’re pumped to be back,” Aaron Harrison said in a statement. “Lexington means everything to us. This is a chance to give back and put on the Kentucky jersey again—this time for the fans who made our journey so special.”
A Fan Favorite Reunion
The Harrison brothers join a growing list of former UK stars aligning with La Familia, including names like Derek Willis, Dominique Hawkins, and Marcus Lee. With more alumni likely to be announced, Kentucky’s presence in TBT is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated stories of the tournament.
As the summer approaches, fans will be watching closely to see if La Familia can live up to its promise—and if the Harrison twins can deliver more clutch moments on the hardwood.
