The Buckeyes will no longer host the Uconn Huskies on October 18, 2025, according to an announcement from the school’s athletic department on Monday. This adjustment came after both Ohio State and UConn agreed to cancel their contest with one another.
On September 6, 2025, Ohio State will play the Grambling State Tigers at Ohio Stadium in place of the Huskies. The Buckeyes will be playing against a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) for the second time ever against the Tigers.
At Ohio Stadium in 2013, Ohio State defeated the Florida A&M Rattlers, another HBCU, 76-0. This will be Ohio State’s fifth encounter with a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) school when it plays Grambling State. Last season, the Scarlet and Gray defeated the Youngstown State Penguins 35-7, the most recent instance.
The nine Big Ten games that will make up the remainder of the 2025–26 schedule will be announced later this autumn, according to Ohio State’s announcement.
