SAD NEWS:Linda Ronstadt just passed away recently.... In the same way that "Stranger Things" helped Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill," "The Last of Us" on HBO has helped Linda Ronstadt. After being heavily featured in the third episode of the series, Ronstadt's 1970 ballad "Long, Long Time" saw a 4,900% increase in streams on Spotify on Sunday night. The show is main focus is on Pascal and Ramsey's characters, but Sunday's episode changed course and told a largely standalone tale with characters portrayed by Nick Offerman ("Parks and Recreation") and Murray Bartlett (recent Emmy winner for "The White Lotus"). Paraphrase In the post-apocalyptic setting, Offerman plays Bill, a survivalist who stays apart from the chaos until Bartlett's character Frank shows up out of the blue and is unexpectedly allowed into Bill's house. Frank finds a Linda Ronstadt songbook for piano and starts to play "Long, Long Time" before Bill takes over to finish the song, and the two end up falling in love. When the 1985 song was first released, it reached at number three. But 37 years after its debut, it shot to the top of the UK charts because of its presence on the show.
