Steve Morse: In Honor of Janine Morse…
Due to his wife’s stage four cancer, Deep Purple frontman Steve Morse has declared he would not be rejoining the group.
After learning that his wife Janine had cancer in April, the 67-year-old stated he would be taking a break from the English rock group to spend more time with her.
Simon McBride took his place temporarily for the group’s current tour, with the intention of returning if Janine’s condition improved.
The late guitarist Eddie Van Halen, who passed away from cancer in 2020 at the age of 65, had the notion for a Van Halen reunion disclosed last month by the late bassist Jason Newsted of Metallica. The musician claimed that drummer Alex Van Halen reached out to him about joining the project, but he turned him down out of concern that he would be perceived as a “money-grabber.” Additionally, Newsted disclosed that Joe Satriani, a master guitarist, was selected to do Eddie’s parts. Since then, the guitarist has discussed the topic in numerous interviews.
