SAD NEWS:Josh Turner Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition
Josh Turner, a country music musician, is getting into the spirit of the holidays. The 44-year-old Turner discussed with Fox News Digital how his Christian beliefs have permeated his music career and will be evident in his upcoming Christmas special, “King Size Manger,” which premieres on Friday. In addition to his most recent CD, Turner’s “King Size Manger” special will showcase his performance of well-known holiday songs and fresh compositions.
“I have always wanted to do a gospel record, but my heart has always been in country music,” he said. “For many years, my admirers have been pleading with me for one, but they never really got the chance until 2018, you know.”
In order to get inspiration for a holiday album, Turner revealed that he listened to Randy Travis’ “An Old Time Christmas.” He said, “I have always kind of used that as a template for what a country Christmas record, or Christmas album, should be.”
On a country Christmas record, Turner had to use his own taste. He accomplished this by fusing a handful of his own original melodies with some beloved holiday tunes. To do that, Turner stated, “I wanted to essentially compile a set of songs that, you know, it is a good balance of the standards, the classics that we all know and love, some original songs, and even some outside original tunes.”
