The Hurricanes were not the only college program interested in having Beck under center in 2025, but after declaring for the 2025 NFL draft in December, Beck chose to use the transfer portal and committed to Miami on January 10 for his last year of collegiate eligibility. According to sources cited by USA Today Network's Matt Hayes on Wednesday, Georgia wants Beck back for the 2025 campaign, and rival Alabama was supporting the Bulldogs in that quest. Beck became the full-time quarterback starter in 2023 after spending the previous five years at Georgia. During his time in Athens, Georgia, he made 39 appearances and threw for 7,912 yards, 58 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions.
