Even though the Wildcats had defeated the Volunteers twice in the regular season, UK was no match for Tennessee in the postseason matchup.

In the decisive victory, Tennessee dominated Kentucky in bench points, second-chance points, and on the glass. The Wildcats set a new school record for 3-pointers made in a season during the game, although Kentucky only hit 15 3-point tries, a season low, in the defeat.

We will have that standard for a very long time. In ten years, these guys will be remembered as the ones who entered the game and established expectations for how students should behave, connect with their teammates, and conduct themselves as Kentucky basketball players. This will become the norm going forward. These guys have my utmost pride.
