Kelly Rowland Announces Retirement, Says She Can No Longer Continue: Sets Final Date for Departure…….ππ
Kelly Rowland has provided more details about her internet run-in with a Cannes security guard.
The former member of Destiny’s Child, in an interview with the Associated Press that was posted to the wire service’s Instagram account, defended her choice to report the employee for alleged abuse. “I know what occurred, and the woman knows what happened,” she uttered. “It is that simpleβI have boundaries and I stick to them.”
“Other women who attended that carpet who did not nearly look like me and they did not get chastised, shoved off, or told to get off,” the woman added.
Rowland got into a heated argument with an usher at the Marcello Mio premiere on Tuesday in Cannes. The attendant kept touching the singer’s arm to push her into the auditorium. The staffer’s physical boundary-crossing angered the artist, who confronted the woman about her actions.
Page Six was informed by a lipreading specialist that Rowland seemed to say to the usher, “Do not talk to me like that,” during their exchange. Do not speak to me in that manner. You are not my mom. I instructed you to speak to me politely.
Rowland’s friends intervened to support the singer when the woman refused to take back her actions. But the usher persisted in shoving the throng up the stairs of the Palais des Festivals.
Strict red carpet security is a regular occurrence at Cannes. Due to their tight scheduleβthere are several screenings every nightβthey frequently push people into the theater so the movies can start on time. In an effort to discourage visitors from loitering outside before to screenings, Cannes banned selfies on the red carpet in 2018. When someone breaks this restriction, security guards frequently seize their phones or cover their camera lenses.
