The Denver Nuggets have released a concerning injury update following their hard-fought Game 5 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers, revealing that several key players are dealing with injuries that could impact their availability in the upcoming games.
While the Nuggets secured a crucial 110-105 win to take a commanding lead in their playoff series, the victory came at a cost. Both Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon were noticeably affected by injuries during the game, and team officials have listed them as “day-to-day” ahead of the next matchup.
Murray, who played a pivotal role in the Nuggets’ success, is reportedly dealing with a mild knee strain, which caused him some discomfort in the second half. Sources say that Murray is undergoing treatment and will be closely monitored in the lead-up to Game 6.
Meanwhile, Gordon, who has been a defensive anchor for the Nuggets, is nursing an ankle injury. He appeared to roll his ankle late in the third quarter and was seen limping off the court, though he returned to play. The injury was described as “manageable” but will require evaluation before the next game.
Additionally, veteran guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is also listed as questionable due to ongoing back tightness. He was able to contribute defensively during Game 5 but was visibly limited in certain moments.
Head coach Michael Malone addressed the injuries briefly in a post-game interview, emphasizing that the health of his players will be a top priority moving forward. “We’ll evaluate everyone over the next 24 hours,” Malone said. “We’re confident in our medical staff, but it’s the playoffs, and we need all hands on deck. We’ll make sure our guys are as ready as possible.”
With the Nuggets on the brink of advancing to the next round, the status of these key players will be crucial in determining their chances of closing out the series against the Clippers.
