Good News:Andrew Carr Announce his engagement with his longtime girlfriend, on Kentucky’s trip to New York City
The Kentucky basketball squad is officially in love. Collin Chandler revealed yesterday that he became engaged while the Wildcats were traveling to New York City for the CBS Sports Classic. As it happens, he was not alone.
Additionally, Andrew Carr asked his girlfriend to marry him. Similar to Chandler, he proposed in a candlelit gazebo in Central Park, although in a different setting. One day after the Cats’ defeat at the hands of Ohio State, the momentous occasion occurred on Sunday. Carr spent his first two years of collegiate basketball at the University of Delaware, where his girlfriend plays field hockey.
“To us, cheers! “I will always love you,” Carr said on Instagram, quoting 1 John 4:19, which states, “We love because he first loved us.”
Carr has started all 12 games for Kentucky this season and is averaging 11.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. He began his career at Delaware before transferring to Wake Forest in 2022. He played for the Demon Deacons for two seasons, averaging 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game the previous season. After earning a communications degree from Wake Forest, he is currently pursuing a master degree in sports, fitness, and recreation
“Andrew Carr is born to play for me. The first time we talked on the phone, we just — it’s almost like we live in a shared experience. I feel like I really know him and I feel like he really knows me. His game fits exactly how this game is being pushed, the edges of this game. You’re always looking for the edges of the game where the game is evolving and he fits exactly what we’re trying to do in terms of his experience, in terms of his skillset, in terms of his mentality.”
Pope expressed his want to see more from Carr, particularly from the three-point line, on last night’s call-in show. During his tenure at Wake Forest, Carr averaged one made three per game; at Kentucky, he is down to 0.4 and has gone 0–5 from beyond the arc in his last four games.
