What looked like a golden opportunity for the Denver Nuggets to close out the series has now spiraled into a full-blown crisis. In Game 6, the Nuggets fell 111-105 to the relentless Los Angeles Clippers, blowing a chance to advance and now facing a nerve-wracking Game 7 back at home.
Despite entering the night with a 3-2 series lead and momentum on their side, the Nuggets couldn’t contain the firepower of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The Clippers played with urgency and precision, outdueling Denver down the stretch and showing why they’re still a major threat in the West.
Denver’s offense looked sharp early, with Nikola Jokić anchoring the attack. But late-game execution once again haunted the reigning champs. Missed shots, turnovers, and defensive breakdowns allowed L.A. to surge ahead in the final minutes — a familiar and painful theme for Denver fans.
“We let it slip, again,” head coach Michael Malone admitted postgame. “Now it comes down to one game. One chance.”
Game 7 will take place at Ball Arena, but home court won’t guarantee safety. The pressure is on, and the Nuggets must now prove they can finish the job — or risk one of the most disappointing exits of the postseason.
Is Denver built for the moment, or will the Clippers complete the comeback of the series? All eyes are on Game 7.
