Fast Raising:6-foot-1, 185-pound safety, Martels Carter Commits to Kentucky Over Auburn, Colorado, Louisville….
The top-ranked prospect in Kentucky, Martels Carter, tells KSR that he has committed to Kentucky, making him the sixth commitment in UK’s 2025 class. Carter chose the Wildcats over Auburn, Colorado, and Louisville.
When questioned about his pledge, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound safety from Paducah Tilghman (Paducah, KY) gave a straightforward response, requiring just two words: “It is home,” Carter said.
Both safety coach Frank Buffano and associate head coach Vince Marrow of Kentucky were major factors in Carter’s decision to sign.
Carter, who has been to Kentucky many times, said, “[Vince Marrow] keeps it real. He does not try to just talk. He will tell you what it is.” “[Frank Buffano] is the exact same way. It is about business. He is going to have fun doing it.” Carter has not set a date for an official visit, but that is probably in June.
“I want to settle into my new surroundings for the next three to four years,” he stated. “I have seen everything I need to see because I have been there four or five times already.”
Martels Carter wants to conduct some of his own recruitment now that he is committed. Daune Morris, a three-star USC running back commit in 2025, is the first.
