In 2024, the Denver Broncos have not had the kind of start they had hoped for. Under rookie quarterback Bo Nix, the team has lost its first two games of the season, and fans have been critical of him. Denver’s backup choices, veteran Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidham, who have both had challenging NFL careers, aren’t much more appealing. Recently, a deal that would send Wilson to the Los Angeles Rams—the quarterback’s third team—was floated by ESPN.

Wilson’s progress is stalled since rookie Nix is the starting quarterback in Denver, where he is currently a third-stringer. Moving to Los Angeles might improve his performance, and he might even end up replacing Matthew Stafford when he retires.

Wilson has arguably already reached his peak, but quarterbacks under head coach Sean McVay have been known to develop; Jared Goff and Baker Mayfield are two outstanding examples of this. Following his 2021 draft selection by the New York Jets, Wilson has amassed 6,293 throwing yards and 23 touchdowns. Analysts are optimistic that he will soon land another starting position in the NFL despite leaving New York.
Wilson will almost certainly be on a different team by the trade deadline if he is not acquired by the Rams. The Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Carolina Panthers are among the other suitors. What is Wilson’s ultimate destination, and will he make his debut this season?
