BREAKING NEWS:QB recruit Brady Hart decommits, flips to Texas A&M for 2025.
For the second time this month, a former high school quarterback pledged to Michigan football has rescinded his commitment. Brady Hart, a four-star prospect out of Cocoa Beach, Fla. (Cocoa Beach) announced Friday not only is he decommitting from the Wolverines, but he is reclassifying from the class of 2026 to the 2025 class and joining Texas A&M.
Shortly after the news spread, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound prospect shared the hashtag #GigEm on social media on Friday afternoon.Prior to being reclassified, Hart was ranked as the No. 98 overall player in America, the No. 6 quarterback, and the No. 17 player in Florida in the Class of 2026.
The action follows Michigan football’s recent acquisition of Belleville five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood, the top prospect in the country.
Earlier this fall, Underwood started to stray from his pledge to LSU, which he had made since the week before Michigan’s national championship victory last January.Michigan took advantage of the opportunity.
Dave Portnoy, the CEO of Barstool Sports and a Michigan alum, claims that he teamed up with Larry Ellison, the fourth richest man in the world and owner of the software business Oracle, whose wife Joplin is a huge Michigan supporter.
That — combined reportedly with Tom Brady, and the pull of U-M’s winning tradition, facilities, coaches, local ties and eight-figure pay day — was enough to land the generational prospect.
In 2025, Michigan may hire a transfer with greater experience to compete for the position in addition to their five-star freshmen.Jadyn Davis has a chance to remain and battle for a position for a second season.
On Tuesday’s episode of “Inside Michigan Football,” Michigan offensive coordinator Kirk Campbell stated, “The jump from high school to college is very, very big, especially at the level that we are trying to attain and the success we are trying to achieve at the University of Michigan.”His progress has been excellent. For him to be able to go out there and operate everything, his system knowledge is exceptional.
Now, it’s the speed of the game, continuing to speed up his feet, anticipating throws, protecting the ball a little bit better, but he’s doing a really good job. I’m excited for his future. He has a bright one and he’s a great kid. Comes from a great family and just excited to have him part of the room.” Hart led Cocoa to a state title as a sophomore and completed 70.6% of his passes in 2024, for 3,293 yards, 32 touchdowns and just eight interceptions as he led Tigers to an 8-3 season.
