The Los Angeles Clippers made a loud and clear statement on Friday night: they’re not going home yet. In a commanding 108-101 victory over the Denver Nuggets, the Clippers tied the Western Conference Semifinals at 3-3 and set the stage for an epic Game 7 in Denver.
From the opening tip, the Clippers looked locked in. Kawhi Leonard delivered a vintage playoff performance with 32 points, while Paul George added 27 and spearheaded a defensive effort that stifled Denver’s usually fluid offense. The Nuggets struggled to find rhythm late in the game, committing costly turnovers and missing crucial shots under pressure.
“We knew we had to bring everything,” George said postgame. “Our backs were against the wall, and we answered.”
The Nuggets, once up 3-2 and seen as favorites to close out the series, now find themselves scrambling to regain momentum. Nikola Jokić posted solid numbers, but Denver’s supporting cast faded in the fourth quarter once again, raising concerns about their ability to deliver in clutch moments.
With Game 7 set to take place at Ball Arena, the pressure is on both teams — but momentum firmly belongs to the Clippers.
