Urgent:Steven Tyler Rushed To Hospital In a Critical Condition
One of the best-selling rock bands, Aerosmith, declared on Friday that it will no longer be performing, citing lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal damage as a chronic one from which he will never fully recover.
In May 2023, the band embarked on its “Peace Out: The Farewell Tour,” but after only a few performances, Tyler’s larynx injury forced them to postpone dates.
Tyler has been trying for months to restore his voice to its previous level, the band announced in a statement on Friday.
“Even with the greatest medical staff at his side, we have witnessed him struggle. Unfortunately, it is evident that he will never fully recover from his vocal lesion,” the statement read. “As a band of brothers, we have decided to withdraw from touring, which is a painful and challenging but
It’s not clear if the end of touring for Aerosmith means the end of live performance. Other big-name acts have dangled the possibility of a last-ever tour, amassing ticket sales only to return to music venues.
That doesn’t seem to be the case for Aerosmith, which has made attempts to complete its latest tour, putting it back on the calendar later this year. Performances were ultimately pushed to this September before Friday’s announcement.
