Urgent:Robert Plant Just Passed Away Recently…..
A story surfaced online last month stating that Richard Branson, the creator of Virgin Group, offered Robert Plant $800 million to bring Led Zeppelin back together for a scheduled 35-date tour. Who does not know the words to “Stairway to Heaven”? It would have been an easy near-billion. That enormous number does not seem excessive for the greatest band to have ever rocked a stadium, even though it was ultimately disproved as being just a social media fabrication. Especially because the band is currently engaged in an extensive effort to restore and republish its impressive back catalog.
Furthermore, Plant’s rejection of that offer does not appear out of character. With the exception of a single performance in 2010 that resulted in the fantastic live CD “Celebration Day,” the singer has not expressed any desire in going back to those older songs or living up to the glory days. He has been a solo artist for thirty years, which is three times longer than the time he spent with his previous band. He has amassed a vast and varied discography that includes American roots rock from the albums “Dreamland” (2002) and “Raising Sand” (2007), as well as the pop-oriented sounds of his early albums and the retro-crooner stylings of his only Honeydrippers release. The latter, a joint effort with bluegrass musician Alison Krauss, achieved multiplatinum status and was the recipient of almost every Grammy Award.
