Urgent:Nelly Korda Turns Down $12.3Million Deal offer due to….

Nelly Korda was the favorite going into this week’s U.S. Women’s Open, but the world No. 1 has been rocked by a complete collapse in the opening round. At the Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania on Thursday, Korda, who just tied an LPGA record with five consecutive victories, found it difficult to navigate the challenging course.

Korda’s first shot landed in a bunker as she took off. Her subsequent shot went down into a brook just past the hole because it was too fast for the sloping green. On the opposite side of the stream, she attempted a penalty drop, but the ball rolled back into the river when she struck the bank.

Korda commented, “I just did not play well today,” following the round. “My hit was not very excellent. Making a 10 on a par-3 will undoubtedly not help you at a U.S. Open, as I frequently found myself in the rough. She forced a smile as she remarked, “Overall, simply a lousy day in the office,”

Korda’s hopes of being just the third player in LPGA history to win the U.S. Women’s Open as the top-ranked player have all but been destroyed by the difficult start. She finished the day T129 with an 80.
