Urgent:John Patrick Schneider Rushed to the Hospital in a Critical Condition
TORONTO (AP) — The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms with John Schneider on a three-year contract to manage the team on Friday, rewarding him for his excellent performance as their interim manager.
Schneider, a 42-year-old former bench coach for Toronto, took over as interim manager in July and went 46-28. Although they defeated Seattle 8-1 in the second game and lost 10-9, Toronto was eliminated from the playoffs in two games, despite earning the top AL wild card with a record of 92-70.
