Forward E.J. Walker, the Wisconsin Badgers’ top target in the 2025 class, committed to South Carolina on Friday, dealing them a severe setback.
Walker, a four-star forward from Kentucky, had listed Purdue, Ohio State, South Carolina, and the Badgers in his Top 4. Prior to Walker’s decision, South Carolina and Wisconsin seemed to be the favorites, but the Badgers were sadly defeated.
Walker was a major goal for Greg Gard’s staff as an athletic two-way forward, something they had been lacking in recent years until the addition of A.J. Storr last season. He had made two formal trips to Madison before to his decision, including one in late April.
Walker has committed to South Carolina, where he will play for a former Badgers assistant coach. Lamont Paris is presently the Gamecocks’ head coach, and the team just finished with a 26-8
