For each of their first three games, the Giants selected linebacker Ty Summers from the practice squad; however, they are unable to do so again without running the danger of losing him to another team.
According to ESPN.com’s Jordan Raanan, the Giants want to circumvent that by adding Summers to their 53-man roster. The Giants released fullback Jakob Johnson on Tuesday, so they will not have to make a similar move.
Johnson has played in two games this season while toggling between the active roster and practice squad this season.
On Monday, the New York Giants kept making roster adjustments, concentrating on special teams. The team revealed that linebacker Ty Summers had been re-signed while attending the NFL Owners Meetings with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen.
