The indie drama “Sister Cities,” which is based on a play by Colette Freedman, stars Troian Bellisario, Stana Katic, Jess Weixler, and Michelle Trachtenberg.
The plot centers on four estranged sisters who get back together to grieve their mother’s death, which they perceive to be a suicide.
The Cannonball Prods project also features Tom Everett Scott, Amy Smart, Jacki Weaver, and Alfred Molina. Cannonball Prods is directed and produced by Sean Hanish. In Los Angeles, lensing got underway last week.
The team behind the Emmy-nominated “Return to Zero,” starring Minnie Driver, reunites in “Sister Cities.” Similar to “Sister Cities,” Cannonball produced and funded “Return to Zero” on its own. Following its festival circuit, Lifetime purchased it and showed it the previous year.
Along with Hanish, Paul Jaconi-Biery and Eleonore Dailly are producing “Sister Cities.” Exec producers include Molina and Kelly Kahl, a CBS executive.
