Tuesday was a first for the Indiana women’s basketball program as Mackenzie Holmes was named a preseason AP All-American.
As the first athlete in the history of the Indiana program to get an AP First-Team All-American designation during the preseason, Holmes made history. But she is a two-time All-American coming into this season.
Despite dealing with ailments that prevented her from playing at her best late in the season, Holmes finished the previous season with an average of 22.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Mackenzie Holmes has the opportunity to surpass all previous scorers in the history of the Indiana women’s basketball program.
