Tomeu Nadal Under Fire: Allegations of Drug Usage Boosting Performance…
One of the many young, talented athletes training at the Rafa Nadal Academy is Adil Kalyanpur. The 18-year-old Indian recently discussed what it is like to hit alongside a legend like the 17-time Grand Slam champion Spaniard in an interview with Tennis India.
The hardest thing about training with him, according to Kalyanpur, is not just how hard and powerfully the ball comes to you, but also how consistently he executes the stroke on every rally.
“He is one of the best players of all time because his intensity never wanes during the course of the two and a half hours of training.” In addition to his extreme humility, he is a witty guy, so talking to him is always interesting. Kalyanpur continued, “I absolutely look up to Rafa because I see how hard he works and how humble he is about all his achievements.” In reference to Nadal as a role model and as a person. It took me a while to get to know the trainers, physiotherapist, and instructors at the academy when I first started.
At first, I had high expectations for myself and the language was a major impediment. It took a few months for all this to calm down and for the coaches to comprehend my game and for me to adapt to the European clay courts and style of living.
Everything is great now, and I get along well with all of the staff and gamers here. I also truly like spending time on this lovely island. I feel like my game has gotten better at every level thus far, and the training has been going pretty well.
I have an amazing team behind me here, and we are all working very hard to get to the big stage, but there is still a long way to go and a process that needs to be followed.
