Tennis Star Steffi Graf Donated $16.5 Million to Aid the Relief Efforts After Hurricane Milton Made Landfall Hamburg, Germany…
ANDRE Agassi disclosed that after first declining the position, his spouse and fellow tennis icon Steffi Graf pushed him to take on the role of Novak Djokovic’s new coach.
Agassi, 47, will partner with Djokovic at the upcoming French Open, where the great Serbian is the reigning champion.
Nevertheless, the eight-time Grand Slam champion, who has not played professionally since quitting in 2006, stated that he will only be in Paris for a short while and that his collaboration with Djokovic will not be a full-time position.
“I said no at the beginning when Novak called me approximately three weeks ago,” Agassi, the 1999 Roland Garros winner, stated to Tout le Sport on French television.
However, Steffi Graf, my wife, advised me to go because I knew I would adore it. All the same, we had long since planned a family vacation to Roland Garros.
I thus intend to attend one or two of Novak’s matches and do my best to help him, as even a little comment can have a big impact.
“I am positive he can improve upon yesterday even more than it was. He knows how strong he is, so I believe he can only get better.
On Thursday, Agassi and Djokovic practised at Roland Garros for the first time, although the American stressed he was not looking for a full-time position.
He then on, “Given our negotiations, it is not a full-time job for me, and the only agreement we have is for Paris.”
