Emma Raducanu’s recent actions have elicited a range of responses from the tennis community. Three days ago, she deactivated her Instagram account following a distressing stalking incident during the Dubai Open, where a stalker followed her over 3,600 miles, causing her significant emotional distress.
In her first match since the incident, Raducanu faced Japan’s Moyuka Uchijima at the Indian Wells Masters but was defeated 6-3, 6-2. This loss marked her sixth defeat against a top-10 opponent since her 2021 US Open victory, placing her at the bottom of the WTA 1000 win percentage rankings for former Grand Slam winners, with a win ratio of 42.3%.
Looking ahead, Raducanu has been drawn against Japan’s Sayaka Ishii in the first round of the Miami Open, which begins on March 18. She will aim to improve upon her recent performances and regain her form in this tournament.
