BREAKING:Blackhawks Sign Lukas Reichel to Two-Year Contract Extension The Chicago Blackhawks said today that they had reached an agreement with forward Lukas Reichel for a two-year deal that will expire in 2025–2026 and include a $1,200,000 salary cap impact. In the 2023–24 season, Reichel, 21, set career highs for games played, assists, and points with 16 points (5G, 11A) in 65 games with the Blackhawks. He had eight points (1G, 7A) in ten regular-season games with the American Hockey League's (AHL) Rockford IceHogs at the end of the season. Additionally, he shared first place among all Rockford players in points. The 6-foot, 170-pound forward has played in 99 NHL games with Chicago between 2022 and 2024, scoring 32 points (12G, 20A). The product of Nurnberg, Germany has appeared in 121 AHL games during the regular season and scored 116 points (42G, 74A). In 14 postseason games with Rockford, he has also scored seven points (5G, 2A). Reichel scored 11 points (4G, 7A) in 13 games while playing for Germany twice at the IIHF World Championships in 2020 and 2021. The forward will play for Team Germany at the IIHF World Championships in Czechia in 2024. In the first round (17th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft, Reichel was initially selected by the Blackhawks.
