Just In:Joe Sacco Rushed to the hospital in a critical condition After the Boston Bruins' poor 8-9-3 start to the 2024–25 NHL season, it seemed certain that head coach Jim Montgomery would be dismissed on Tuesday. After taking over as head coach of the Boston Bruins in July 2022, Montgomery spent a little over two seasons in the bench, finishing with a regular season record of 120-41-23 and a postseason record of 9-11. Montgomery will be replaced internally by the Bruins. The temporary head coach will be Joe Sacco, who was elevated to associate coach prior to the season. The 55-year-old has been with the Bruins for 11 seasons. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts. Prior to being promoted to associate coach, he served as Boston's assistant coach.
