‘We want our children to choose as they see fit’: Tennis sweethearts Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf reveal their hands-off approach to parenting
They’re the former tennis legends who have been married for 17 years. Additionally, in an interview with Stellar Magazine on Sunday, Andre Agassi and Stefanie (Steffi) Graf shared specifics about their parenting style.
Andre, 48, told the publication, “We just wanted our children to make their own decisions and then make sure their days reflect the things they profess to care about.”
During the interview, the two also discussed the physical impacts that years of tennis play have had on their bodies. Stefanie, 49, added, “Sitting here, my hips – it is hurting,” after Andre disclosed that he has back problems. I have bone-on-bone in my knee. Our bodies had a rough time.
Married since 2001, the pair has two adolescent children: a 17-year-old son named Jaden Gil and a 15-year-old daughter named Jaz Elle. Since they took their tennis whites off the court in 1999 and 2006, respectively, they have maintained a rather quiet profile.

German native Steffi won 22 singles titles combined at Wimbledon, the French Open, U.S. Open and Australian Open and took part in 56 Grand Slam events. While Andre retired from professional tennis in 2006, after a long and successful career that saw him win 60 titles and land himself the number one spot in April, 1995.
