Stana Katic made a brief yet poignant appearance in two devastating Season 12 episodes of…
Stana Katic is skilled at mounting a comeback. The Canadian actress landed another starring role on Amazon Prime’s psychological thriller “Absentia,” only a year after her contentious departure from ABC’s crime series “Castle.”Katic portrays FBI agent Emily Byrne, who has been missing for six years and returns with her memory erased, only to find herself a wanted man and a murder suspect (via /Film).
With the intense performance, Katic made a victorious comeback. According to US Weekly, she was allegedly fired from “Castle” in 2016 due to lingering rumors of conflict with her co-star Nathan Fillion. Fans were taken aback by the announcement after witnessing the development of NYPD Detective Kate Beckett (Katic) and mystery novelist Rick Castle (Fillion) over eight seasons, from a professional team to the adorably called “Caskett” romantic couple. Regretfully, a month after ABC revealed Katic’s departure, “Castle” was permanently canceled before its scheduled ninth season (via Deadline).
Even though Kate Beckett may be her most well-known role, Katic had a long list of film and television credits before landing her big break on “Castle.” According to her IMDb profile, she had guest appearances on “Heroes,” “The Closer,” “24,” “JAG,” “The Shield,” and “Dragnet,” among other shows, and she was a seemingly constant on television throughout the early 2000s. Fans of “ER” can also catch Katic on Season 12 of the popular medical drama, where she played a brief but intense role in 2005.
