Shock:Wide receiver Jaylan Hornsby flips from Texas A&M to Syracuse…
With the flip of Texas A&M receiver Jaylan Hornsby, the Fran Brown era at Syracuse is off to a great start. During his official visit this past weekend, the Atco (N.J.) Winslow Township star made a commitment to the Orange. Since July, Hornsby has been devoted to the Aggies.
Hornsby remarked, “I want the other guys to get on board.” “I am waiting for a few of the other guys who I know are already considering it. Yasin (Willis) should definitely come. He is quite competent.
There had been rumors earlier in the season that Hornsby was considering other options despite his commitment to Texas A&M, but he remained steadfast in that choice until Elijah Robinson left College Station to join Fran Brown’s coaching staff at Syracuse. Although Brown and Hornsby get along well, Robinson has been his closest coach since the start of his recruiting, which eventually won him over.
Hornsby has a basketball background and is a high ceiling prospect. The receiver reeled in 22 catches for 420 yards and eight touchdowns this season despite missing some time. With his inherent talents, Hornsby is a raw receiving prospect that any college coach would be thrilled to have on staff. He provides the necessary assets to succeed in the majority of jump ball situations, including size, strength, reasonably dependable hands, and good straight line speed. It will be intriguing to watch how quickly he honed the finer elements of his game at Syracuse, where he will have an opportunity to play early in his career.
Closing is one of the top offensive tackles in the country. On January 14, Tennessee’s Gabriel Osenda, the No. 21-ranked offensive tackle in the Rivals250, will finalize his college choice. When he makes his final decision next month, the four-star offensive lineman will select from Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and Minnesota.
