SHOCKWAVE!!:Oklahoma Lands Commit from Another Hawaii Softball Star
For the third consecutive week, one of the top recruits in the country has been signed by OU’s 2026 class: Ori Mailo committed to Patty Gasso and the Sooners on Monday.
On Monday, Patty Gasso received yet another commitment to the Oklahoma softball program. On Twitter/X, 2026 recruiting class candidate Jerrell “Ori” Mailo declared her verbal commitment to OU.
She stated, “God is always kind and His constant love remains.” In order to advance my academic and athletic career, I am incredibly thrilled and humbled to announce that I will be verbally committing to the University of Oklahoma. I appreciate the OU staff’s and coach Patty Gasso’s belief in me.
She is ranked No. 40 overall in the country, No. 18 among infielders, and the top player in Hawaii, per On3 rankings. In high school, she pitches in addition to playing first and third base.
Mailo, a 5-foot-4 power batter, is from Waianae, which is on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. Jocelyn Alo, the NCAA home run queen from Oklahoma, is from the same island. She is a student at Mililani High School, which was attended by former OU quarterback Dillon Gabriel.
