At a meeting held in Tulsa on Friday, the Oklahoma Board of Regents authorized a record new contract for Patty Gasso, the softball coach at the University of Oklahoma.
Gasso, who has guided the Sooners to four straight national championships, was given a new contract that, excluding potential performance bonuses, will pay him an average of $2.05 million a year through the 2028 campaign.
Gasso’s prior contract paid her $1.775 million for this past season and was set to pay her $1.825 million as of July 1, making her the highest-paid coach in college softball already. Rather, her pay was retrospectively boosted to $1.9 million as of July 1. In each of the next three years, it is expected to rise by $100,000 per year.
In 2025, she will begin her 31st season with Oklahoma, having guided the Sooners to a 1,515-352-2 record and eight Women’s College World Series
Employees at Gasso also received raises. JT Gasso and Jen Rocha, associate head coaches, will each receive $300,000. The stadium master plan update for Oklahoma football has been authorized. At its meeting in Tulsa on Friday, the Oklahoma Board of Regents also authorized revisions to the master plan for Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
