Shock:Former Michigan LB Joey Velazquez makes rare transfer from Michigan to OSU
Joey Velazquez, a former Michigan linebacker who registered on the transfer portal in late December, made an uncommon and almost forbidden move on Monday morning when it was announced that he would be moving to Ohio State.
After five years with the Wolverines, Columbus native Velazquez will continue his career with the Buckeyes.
Velazquez made a fumble recovery and seven total tackles while playing football for the Michigan team. Neither in 2019 nor 2023 did he see any gameplay. In Ann Arbor, Velazquez is well-known for playing two sports. In addition, he has demonstrated himself on the baseball field, where he has had a far greater influence than on the football field.
