One of the fastest female sprinters in the world, Sha’Carri Richardson was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 25, 2000. She is well-known for setting records in the 100-meter dash.
Although she missed the Games by testing positive for marijuana, the American runner first attracted public prominence in 2021 when she qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo (delayed due to the COVID-19 epidemic). After overcoming the setback, Richardson finished the 2023 women’s 100-meter race with the fifth-fastest time (10.65 seconds). She won a silver medal in the event
Richardson was raised by her grandmother and aunt and had no contact with her birth parents. While in middle school, she belonged to a track and field club, and she excelled as an athlete at Dallas’ David W. Carter High School. Richardson won the 100-meter dash at the 2016 Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Junior Olympics while competing nationally as a sophomore. In 2018, Richardson enrolled at Louisiana State University (LSU) following his high school graduation. She ran the 100-meter sprint in 10.75 seconds during her freshman year in 2019, setting a new National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) record. Richardson received The Bowerman, which is given to the most exceptional NCAA track and field male and female athlete of the year, in recognition of her accomplishments that year, including going undefeated in the
