Rock Experts ranked Peter Steele among the “100 All-Time Greatest Metal Vocalists.”
He claims that after leaving the band, he was better able to see how Peter was being treated unfairly and how the group was failing. View Sal Abruscato’s heartbreaking and emotional report:
“Well, Peter was a very kind man. He had a nice face. Ele possui um coração bom. At the end of the story, he had a good heart but was also quite vulnerable. He was vulnerable. The people used it. He was a lawful driver, kind and cunning, yet they used him. The entire world was using him. Up until the original band members, as he was a load bearer. And they were all trying to do the best they could. He had a really serious problem up to that point, and I know that everyone tried their hardest to do the best they could, but it was a little bit late.
Remember that I spoke with him for exactly two weeks before he passed away, and he told me that everything he had left was 3,500 dollars in his name. Yes, that is true, but when the good times ended, the world ended as well. Everybody was sad when the drugs ran out because he needed to be clean and sober. When he told me that, it was kind of… And he told me about people I would never name. It is unfortunate that it ended that way for him. If he also visited the doctor on a regular basis, perhaps he could… But once more, the ruse was in place. However, this was Pete’s side, a mocinho and a professional artist, a professional liar. A very intelligent car that is very intelligent in many different ways. Not as a “intelligent doctor,” but intelligent in other ways—artistically and in the way he saw and understood things. He was really intelligent.
