Queen releases the Freddie Mercury-vocated song Face It Alone, which was previously undiscovered. Hear this now
The band’s first new song featuring the late frontman’s instantly recognizable vocals in over eight years, “Face It Alone,” was rediscovered by Queen on Thursday. Guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor first revealed the song’s existence to fans in an interview last summer. We would kind of forgotten about this song, according to a statement from Taylor. “But this tiny jewel was there. It is amazing, a true finding. It is a really impassioned composition.
Queen’s thirteenth studio album, “The Miracle,” was released two years before to Mercury’s death in 1991 from pneumonia associated with AIDS.
The forthcoming reissue, which will be available as an eight-disc collector’s edition box set, will include six previously unheard tracks in addition to conversations involving bassist John Deacon, Mercury, May, and Taylor in the studio.
The last time Queen used Mercury was on their 2014 album “Queen Forever,” which featured three previously unreleased tracks.
“I am glad that this track (‘Face It Alone’) was discovered by our team,” May remarked.
