Congressman Al Green receives a distinguished award from Pakistan’s envoy to the US.
During a special investiture ceremony at the Pakistani Embassy in Washington, DC, Congressman Alexander N. Green was presented with the renowned Sitara-i-Khidmat award by Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, according to a statement issued by the embassy on Monday.
The award honors Green’s outstanding work in promoting Islamabad’s favorable image in the US Congress, strengthening ties between Pakistan and the US, and battling Islamophobia.
Congressman Randy Weber, Representative Henry Ceullar, former Congressman Nick Lampson, Representative Suleman Lalani of Texas State, ambassadors, and well-known Pakistani Americans were present at the occasion.
Green was described as “an amazing individual whose achievements have considerably reinforced the bond between Pakistan and United States” by the ambassador, according to a statement.

When the ambassador recalled Green’s trip to Pakistan amid the disastrous floods of 2022, he said that the Congressman not only showed support for the people of the nation at their hour of need, but also went back to the US Congress to fervently push for prompt aid.
