“I’ve worn a lot of jerseys in my career, but none of them mean more to me than the Carolina Blue,” Worthy stated during his emotional press conference at the Dean Smith Center. “This is home. This is where it all started. I’m not just coming back to coach — I’m coming back to lead, to inspire, and to help this program restore its rightful place at the top of collegiate basketball.”
