NEW DEAL:Bears agree to one-year deal with tight end Nahshon Wright, Setting a prestigeous Record!!
The Bears signed cornerback Nahshon Wright on Tuesday, one day after the Vikings released the 26-year-old. Wright’s height is special — he stands 6-foot-4, which is gigantic for a cornerback — but he’s struggled to carve out a significant role in the NFL despite being a former third-round pick of the Cowboys.
During his three seasons with the Cowboys, he had 29 appearances, started three games, and intercepted one pass in 2022. Wright only appeared in one game for Minnesota last season after the Cowboys dealt him to the Vikings for cornerback Andrew Booth. He was a member of the Vikings’ practice squad for the whole season.
Wright transferred from Laney College, where he won a national junior college championship, to Oregon State, where he recorded five interceptions in two years.
Al Harris was the defensive backs coach for the Cowboys when Wright and Harris were in Dallas, so his new position coach is well-versed in him. This offseason, Harris was hired by the Bears as their pass-game coordinator and defensive backs coach.
