Locked In:”Mchigan Snags 4-Star DB Elijah Dotson, No. 1 Overall, Over top SEC big Offers.Ohio, Texas, Cleveland, Tennessee”….
Four-star Belleville, Michigan, high safety Elijah Dotson verbally committed to Michigan this week, giving the Wolverines a significant recruiting victory. In the video at the conclusion of this story, EJ Holland, who plays the Wolverine, discusses his feelings about Dotson.
Dotson was regarded as a Michigan lean early on. But when former Michigan cornerbacks coach Steve Clinkscale left for the NFL, the two parties parted ways.
Dotson committed to Pitt in the spring and seemed set in his decision. This fall, Dotson was invited back to Michigan twice, including for the game against Oregon earlier this month, by secondary coach LaMar Morgan. Soon after, Dotson was able to be traded from Pitt to Michigan.
“He’s still raw from a technical standpoint, but he has good length and athleticism.” Holland stated, “Dotson is a versatile piece on the back end who can play multiple positions.” “I like him more as a safety, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him end up at nickel as Michigan is looking for more length and athleticism there.” Dotson could help Michigan in its pursuit of five-star LSU quarterback commit Bryce Underwood.
