Locked In:”Kansas Snags 5- Star WR TE Linkon Cure, No. 1 Overall, Over top SEC big Offers. Oregon, Texas, Michigan…..
At the beginning of his recruitment, Kansas State expressed interest in five-star tight end Linkon Cure of Goodland, Kansas. Cure was first offered by the Wildcats, who also assured him that he could significantly influence the Big 12 program. Head coach Chris Klieman and his staff gave him even more importance as his reputation continued to grow.
During his official visit to the Ducks, Oregon made a significant effort for Cure and moved up his list; however, Kansas State hosted him the following weekend. The 6-foot-4.5, 210-pound recruit spent time with the Wildcats’ coaches while he was in Manhattan, along with running back Dylan Edwards and quarterback Avery Johnson. Cure decided to commit to Kansas State over Kansas, Oregon, and Texas A&M on Monday after realizing during that “fantastic” trip that he wanted to play for the
Cure said to On3, “It was a feeling that I got.” “I did not get any sleep at all on Saturday night. I texted Taylor Braet first. I contacted him at seven in the morning to rouse him up, saying, “Hey, could you come pick me up at the hotel and take me to the stadium?” I simply need time to reflect. “Yeah, I will be right there,” he said. He then led me to the stadium, where I found seats 17 and 18 in Section 227. I was checking to make sure it was the appropriate choice as I sat down.

It all boiled down to the fact that it was quite emotional for me. I was aware that it was correct. It was pretty wonderful when Coach Klieman also came up there and spoke with me. I really like the fact that we had some alone time in the stadium.
Growing up, Cure was a Kansas State supporter and went to Bill Snyder Family Football Stadium to watch games. The Kansas No. 2 player is now prepared to remain at home and contribute to the Wildcats’ success.
Cure, the 27th overall talent and the 2nd tight end in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking, stated, “I always had that affinity for them.” As I sat up in those stands thinking about everything, it meant the world to me that Kansas State would be my first offer, where I would begin my recruitment and finish it. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life.
